Jacksonville City Council member Kevin Carrico says he will not seek reelection and will launch a Jacksonville-based global advisory firm with his wife, Dasyi Jacobson Carrico.
The second-term Republican Council member and Jacobson Carrico announced the new business venture, Alignment Global Partners, in a news release Monday. Alignment will focus on tax expertise, executive leadership and business strategy, the release says.
Kevin Carrico left his most recent position as the vice president of strategic initiatives at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida early this month. The nonprofit announced Sept. 23 that Carrico had stepped down.
He says he will complete his current city council term, which ends June 30, 2027, before shifting his focus to the new firm.
“I will complete my current term on the Jacksonville City Council, but I will not seek a third term,” Kevin Carrico said in the release. “Daysi and I are building on the strength of our established businesses with a shared vision for what comes next. After completing my term, I will devote my full professional focus to expanding that work, creating opportunity for the people we serve and building a lasting legacy for our family. Alignment Global Partners is anexpression of that commitment: bringing our experience and purpose together to build something greater.”

Behind every institution are people counting on it,” Jacobson Carrico said in the release. “Those people are the reason we do this. We bring our experience and gifts to partnerships that give people the clarity and confidence to protect what they have built and pursue what comes next.”
Carrico and Carrico Jacobson says they also want to establish operations in Europe, initially in Madrid, Spain. The Jacksonville City Council announced last week that Kevin Carrico was named a trustee of the Madrid-based World Law Foundation, a nonprofit which provides organizational structure for programs promoting the rule of law globally.
Kevin Carrico told Jacksonville Today that Alignment’s office will be above the Irish pub Keane’s Tavern on East Bay Street. He says the office space is renovated and they’ve applied for a certificate of occupancy with the city.
The business paperwork is currently working through the state’s approval process in Tallahassee, Carrico said in a text message Monday.
They’re planning to begin operations by the end of October.
