Otto Aerospace intends to start construction at Cecil Airport in 2028 on a facility to make “a next-generation corporate jet.”

“They plan to start actually working on an aircraft around 2030,” Tony Cugno, chief operating officer of the Jacksonville Aviation Authority, said last week.

Cugno presented the status of the Aviation Authority to the City Council Finance Committee as council prepares the city’s 2026-27 budget, which will take effect Oct. 1.
